My name is Karla Wheeler. Yes I would recomend this insurance they are a good provider, cheaper then everyone else I have tried. However my company is Allied, which is through Nationwide. The quote I received tonight from regular Nationwide was actually cheaper.

I have been with Nationwide for a relatively long time, and have received fairly good service from them. The agent assigned to me is good and very accommodating. I had to have a car insurance claim after a hail storm, and I was very satisfied with the efficient repairs done by their accredited repair shop. However, it took the claims adjuster for my home insurance several days to visit and make his assessment, but everything after that was finished without any more delays. I was paid, and was able to have my home repairs started.

I’ve had Nationwide for a long time: 8 years for auto and 2 years for property. I don’t think I would stay with them that long had I not been happy with their services. I pay them only $950 for 2 cars/2 drivers. In the time I’ve been with them, I’ve just once filed a claim when I had to have body work done on my car because a stray ply board flew and hit it while on a highway. Service was quick, and the process painless. Rates after the incident were kept the same.

Nationwide does not value their clients! When I had them the first time, I backed into my garage. The agent was very difficult to deal with, but they were able to repair my car immediately. But then, they increased my rates, so I changed my insurance provider. One year later, I returned because they gave me a good quote. But again, they raised my premium up fast. I decided to stick with them awhile this time though. Then, they just dropped me suddenly because I did not finish a survey to their satisfaction, when they could have just called me to ask about the registration info on my two cars. Very bad experience with them. I say they did me a favor when they dropped me. I’m never getting them again.

Several years before, I was with Nationwide. I never really had a problem with them before, except when my car was stolen from my parents’ house. My CRX was not special in any way, not lowered, not modified for racing or anything like that. I was reimbursed the minimum amount, then they raised my premium by arguing that my brother was a regular driver of my CRX. In fact, I just left my CRX at my parents’ because my brother and I were working on the window, until we’d given up, and I asked him to take it to the dealer’s to just have the window done professionally. So one way or the other, Nationwide thinks that my brother was a regular driver of my car, wants me to include him into the insurance, and starts asking for driver’s info on my brother. I argued with them for more than a month, until I just cancelled my policy and transferred to another insurance company. Not necessarily a better one, but I just had to leave them.

Yes, they have low rates, but that’s about it. I faxed them 3 times, and emailed them twice, trying to cancel my policy. When they finally contacted me, they simply just said that they weren’t able to receive anything from me before. Also, their website needs a lot of work. Customer care is dismal. People there need to be trained on how to better respond to customers.
